In my January lecture "
How did London get away with it?" I used house prices as one of the economic indicators to support the idea that London was doing well (both relative to expectations and to other regions in the UK). Latest
figures from the Land Registry suggest that this continues to be the case. In the year to March 2011 London saw prices increase by 0.8%, while the North East saw falls of 9.3%. The average change for England and Wales was a 2.3% decrease.
